Distribution Request Form (PDF format)

For 40 years Third World Newsreel has been a major distributor of social issue films and videos made by and about people of color.
TWN's collection includes over 450 works by over 200 established and emerging film and media artists including Camille Billops, Roddy Bogawa, Randy Redroad, Alex Rivera, Yvonne Welbon, Tran T. Kim Trang and Thomas Allen Harris. Educators, librarians, students, curators, organizers, writers, conference and festival programmers, social and health service providers, television programmers, and media artists are core users of TWN programs many of which have been screened at major film festivals and aired on PBS.
TWN remains committed to expanding its collection with works that are representative of Third World cultures and issues. Film and video makers are invited to submit their works and a distribution application for TWN consideration. TWN distribution offers the potential of exposing your work to educational institutions, libraries, and exhibitors around the world by actively marketing the sale and rental of our collection globally. Distribution of your work is contingent on TWN review and acceptance.
Types of works considered:
-
Works representative of Third World cultures and issues
-
Social issue films and videos made by or about people of color
TWN will not distribute works that promote any racism, sexism, or hate toward any person or group of people. TWN does not distribute works that are instructional or "how to" media. Generally, TWN will not distribute works that are filmed stage or dance performances.
You initiate the distribution process by completing and submitting a
Distribution Request Form. In addition to the form, submit a brief biography of the director(s) and copies of any reviews of the work. Following review of the Distribution Request form, TWN may request a copy of the work for review.
