Roberto Berliner


Roberto Berliner has built a prestigious career directing music videos, publicity films and documentaries. Born in June 1957, he graduated in social communication, and started working in films and videos in 1978. Using a Super 8 camera, he made several shorts about student movements until the day he started working in Tv Globo’s archive, where he learned to edit.

Between 1993 and 2000 he directed a series of documentaries for television, among them, there are “Angola” (1988), “God For all” (1993), “Street Sounds” (1997), the shorts “You Are What You Are Born For” (1999) and “Tunning the Inner Side” (2002) and the features “Born to be blind” (theatrically released in 2005) and “Pindorama – The true story of the seven dwarves”.

Today he dedicates his time in the post production of the feauture documentary “Herbert – Up close” and develops his first fiction feature “The lady of the images”, based upon the life of the Dr. Nise da Silveira.
