This unique and moving film depicts the Salvadoran heartland in the early years of the war. It presents different aspects of daily life in El Salvador in areas called popular power zones controlled by the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN). Its intimacy, lyrical texture and understatement set it apart from most other films on the Salvadoran Civil War.
Made in El Salvador by Sistema Radio Venceremos, this film was part of a video series curated by El Salvador Media Project, a New York-based media organization.
